Aloha Friday - June 19, 2009

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate click here.

Do You Have Any Tips/Suggestions How To Make Money For A SAHM Mom?

I've been pondering about the idea to go back to work, but even if I went back to work part time, it really won't matter considering I'll have to pay for daycare, which will basically be my whole paycheck, so it won't be worth it to work outside the home, have someone else take care of my children, when I really would rather be with my children then anything else. So I've trying to figure out ways how I could make a few extra bucks just by staying at home. I've thought about selling stuff on Ebay, but that can be really unprofitable since I've done it before and actually lost money. Maybe not selling the right stuff.

You could start an in-home daycare. My sister does that, and makes quite good money, and she loves it. If you don't want to go whole hog, you could just find a couple of kids to watch. That would bring in a little extra money. You can call around to daycares in your area and find out what they charge to give you an idea what you'd be making

When my kids were in elementary school I would work on the playground. It was really a good job at the time.

Good luck with this. I have been wondering the same thing for quite some time. I opted not to take other kids into our house. Did not want the added stress in our smaller house. Plus I know that our insurace frowns on it. Once my little guy (just 2) is older I will have more options. Right now I would love to get into tutoring since I have several teaching degrees.

I have no idea. I'm sorry but I have yet to see something that works well. That's just me though.

Home daycare, organizing business, errand service, direct sales, internet sales, etsy sales, affiliate marketing etc. Tons and tons of ideas for SAHM's.

I do a few things on the internet to make money. It doesn't pay the bills, but I use it for extras like doing fun things with the kids. The ones that actually pay me and don't involve having to sign up for a million sites, or refer tons of people are ChaCha, Pinecone, and You Data. I also do a few that you can cash in credits or points for gift cards.
