Aloha Friday - September 25, 2009

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link at An Island Life. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

My question is:

Do you know what this is?

My parents didn't plant a garden, but some stuff grew from their compost. Pumpkins, guards and squash grew, but we can't seem to identify this, it's about 12-15 inches tall. Anyone know?

Oh well.. it looks like a cross of a watermelon and gourd. However I have seen those type of gourds before.

It looks like a gourd.

My vote is a gourd also. I wonder if some watermelon seeds also got mixed in.

Blast it all! I can't even id the things growing in my own garden. I'm afraid I'm hopelessly underqualified to answer your question.

It looks like the evil squash creations that used to come out of my grandmother's garden that she expected me to eat and I dreaded them :-)
